"Don't be scared" Overcoming fear and anxiety By Lora D. Charles

As women, we often face a variety of fears and anxieties in our daily lives. Whether it's fear of failure, fear of rejection, or fear of the unknown, it can be overwhelming. But there just comes a moment in your life where you get tied (slang for tired) of being scared of life!! and as Christians, we know that with God we don't have to face these fears alone. In this blog post, I want talk to you about what the Bible has to say about overcoming fear and anxiety.

The Bible is filled with verses that offer encouragement and guidance for overcoming fear and anxiety. One of the verse I heard alot in the grand ole church was Isaiah 41:10, which says, "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." They didnt say all that, but I wanted to give it to you straight. I try not to quote from the M.O.V. Bible when I write these blogs. M.O.V. stands for my own version. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us that when we are feeling afraid or anxious, God is with us and will give us the strength and help we need to overcome our fears.

Another verse that can be particularly comforting when we are struggling with fear and anxiety is Psalm 34:4, which says, "I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears." This verse reminds us that when we turn to God in prayer, He will hear us and deliver us from our fears.

Another important aspect of overcoming fear and anxiety is learning to trust in God and His plan for our lives. Philippians 4:6-7 says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your mi

nds in Christ Jesus." This verse reminds us that when we pray and give our worries to God, He will give us a peace that surpasses all understanding.

In addition to these verses, there are many others throughout the Bible that offer guidance and encouragement for overcoming fear and anxiety. For example, Psalm 23:4 says, "Ye though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." This verse reminds us that even when we are going through difficult times, God is with us and will give us the comfort and protection we need.

Another important aspect of overcoming fear and anxiety is learning to focus on the present moment and not worrying about the future. Matthew 6:34 says, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." In other words, don't let tomorrow work your nerves. Its not even here yet. This verse reminds us that we should not be anxious about what may happen in the future, but instead trust that God will be with us and provide for us each day.

Finally, one of the most important things we can do to overcome fear and anxiety is to trust in God's love and goodness. 1 John 4:18 says, "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." This verse reminds us that when we truly understand and experience God's love for us, it will drive out our fears.

Let me just leave you with this. As women, we will face fears and anxieties in our daily lives, but as Christians, we know that we don't have to face these fears alone. The Bible offers us many verses that offer encouragement and guidance for overcoming fear and anxiety. By trusting in God and His love for us, we can find the strength and peace we need to overcome our fears. It's a part of my teachings.."Use the word of God to your advantage, not just in reading, But speak it over your life!". The word works. Now work it.

Lets pray together

Dear Lord, thank you for being with us in the midst of our fears and anxieties. Help us to trust in you and to rely on your strength and peace. Give us the courage to face our fears head-on and to trust in your perfect love that casts out all fear. In Jesus name. Amen.

I pray that this has blessed you and inspired you to draw closer to God.

Love, Lora
