Personal Spiritual Care

Caring for yourself spiritually involves nourishing your inner self and cultivating a sense of and having a relationship with the true and living God so you can find and walk in your purpose in this life. Here are a few tips for caring for yourself spiritually:

  1. Practice mindfulness by focusing on the present moment and being aware of your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings. Philippians 4:6-7 says "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus"

  2. Engage in activities that bring you joy, such as hobbies, volunteering, or spending time with loved ones. Psalms 16:11 says You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

  3. Reflect on your values and beliefs and consider how you can live in alignment with them. James 1:23 says For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror.

  4. Set goals and intentions that are meaningful to you and that reflect on the will and purpose that God has framed for your life. Ultimately Gods plan and purpose will prevail if you follow his ways. Proverbs 19:21 says There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel will stand.

  5. Seek out sources of inspiration, Other men and Women of God,nature, art, music, or biblical texts or related books written by Christian Authors, that nourish your soul and help you connect with the true and living God

  6. Practice gratitude by taking time to appreciate the good things in your life, both large and small. I am a big believer on just giving thanks no matter where I am at that moment. I just speak gratitude by giving thanks or just show it unto God in my actions. Colossians 3:17 says "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him"

  7. Seek out supportive relationships within your church or Godly God ordained connections that help you feel connected and supported in your spiritual journey. The bible tells us in Hebrews 10:25 Do not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

By incorporating these practices into your daily life, you can nourish your spirit and feel more connected, purposeful, and fulfilled in your relationship with God, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Holy spirit. Love, Lora
